Not Guilty and "Exceptionally Well Defended"

This client was represented by Richard Gowthorpe and was charged with several counts of sexual assault, including the most serious which was alleged to have taken place over 10 years ago when he was babysitting for a family.

The client was under 16 at the time and denied any kind of improper behaviour. He had never been in any kind of trouble before.  All the family members were asked to recall what happened and how the allegation was reported. After a two week trial the client was unanimously acquitted and the judge formally thanked both advocates for their advocacy; "exceptionally well prosecuted and exceptionally well and valiantly defended".
