Whatever the case you will benefit from personal contact with a senior lawyer who will run your case and be available to you from start to finish. We are not confined to the London area and can arrange representation throughout the UK.
We provide a wide range of services; please select from the menu in the right hand column of this page.
Below is an overview of each section:
Criminal defence work is the largest area of work that the firm does and we have many years experience in this field. We have advised clients facing everything from the most minor to the most serious allegations, including murder, terrorism offences, armed robbery, fraud and international money laundering.
We are able to represent clients who are bringing or defending claims at the Employment Tribunal, as well as advising both employees and employers on all aspects of employment law before matters reach that stage.
Extradition cases form a major part of our work. The Extradition Team is headed by Giovanna Fiorentino who is widely respected for her work in this area dealing with and challenging extradition requests from all jurisdictions. We provide a multi-ligual service, instruct leading extradition barristers' chambers and have acted in numerous leading cases in the High Court helping to establish clear principles in the extradition courts. Giovanna's talents are recognised in The Legal 500 guide.
If you are looking to visit the UK as a tourist, wish to work here or settle with your family, the first most important decision you need to make is to decide who will help you get through the necessary stages and gather all the vital information to present your application in the best way possible. Here, at Lansbury Worthington, Ziba Akarcay and Arpita Patel will give you clear advice and we take on all new applications with one aim; to ensure your application has the best prospects of success while giving you a stress free and quality service.
Data Protection and DBS
Our work in criminal law throws up various Data Protection Issues. Whether you need help with representations to the Disclosure and Barring Service, or simply need advice and assistance in relation to Data Compliance and GDPR issues, Ben Lansbury will be pleased to assist you.
This is closely linked to our criminal defence work and mainly concerns what happens after someone has received a prison sentence. Our Prison Law solicitor Susan Twyman is highly regarded in this area. She has extensive experience, and a no-nonsense approach to advising, assisting and representing prisoners working towards their Parole-Board hearings. We are also able to advise on breaches of licence, licence terms, and prison disciplinary procedures.
Richard Gowthorpe and Charlotte Precious are experienced practitioners in the Coroner's Court. They are able to offer a patient and sensitive service in this often distressing area of work, and they can provide practical guidance to families who may find the whole experience confusing and upsetting.
Our motoring offences team is a sub division of our criminal defence team. We can guide you through the pitfalls of drink driving offences, speeding and dealing with totting up. In some cases, even if a defence to the allegation is not available, it may be possible to avoid points or disqualification if certain specific “special reasons” or grave hardship apply.
