Client Acquitted on Appeal before the Old Bailey

Charlotte Precious secured a victory for a client who appealed a conviction before the Old Bailey in Central London.

The client, who had been convicted of theft before the City of London Magistrates’ Court asked Lansbury Worthington to prepare an appeal against his conviction. The client’s defence was that he suffered from Type 1 diabetes and was suffering from a hypoglycaemic attack at the time of the alleged offence. This defence was supported by medical evidence and Charlotte was able to successfully argue that the court could not be certain that he had the necessary intention to commit the offence. The client was found not guilty and his conviction was overturned.
