Extradition Success in the High Court

In a legal first, Lansbury Worthington’s Extradition Team has successfully challenged the decision of a District Judge to impose costs in an extradition case.

Following a lengthy hearing at the High Court on the 15th May before King J, who dismissed the Appellant’s appeal under Article 8, the costs order imposed at first instance was varied from £500 to £100. Judgement has been reserved on the issue of costs jurisdiction in statutory appeals.

The client was represented by Giovanna Fiorentino and Nadia Dimitrova in this case of Skraba v Poland, and Kate O’Raghallaigh of Doughty Street Chambers was instructed as advocate.
