Proposed changes to small claims limit in Personal Injury claims

"Compensation plans could deal up double whammy for road traffic accident victims"

This article from The Law Society comments on the proposed changes to the small claims limit for personal injury. At present the small claims limit for personal injury is £1,000 which enables claimants to recover costs where damages for injuries are £1,000 or more. This enables victims of personal injury to instruct solicitors who then recover their costs from the other side upon successful conclusion of their case. The proposed changes will significantly impact on access to compensation for those unfortunate enough to suffer injury from an accident which wasn't their fault.

At Lansbury Worthington we will quickly be able to assess your claim in terms of prospects of success and likely amount of compensation. We have access to numerous medical experts across different fields who provide detailed medico-legal reports which are used to calculate how much each claim is worth. These reports are key evidential documents which are used in each case, particularly in negotiating compensation with the party who is at fault.
