Martin James

    Duty Solicitor and Crown Court Advocate

    Martin qualified as a solicitor in 1980 and served in the Army Legal Corps, being based in Germany for much of his service life. He subsequently entered private practice and dealt with a wide area of work including crime, matrimonial, personal injury claims and litigation.

    In the last 7 years he has specialised in the criminal defence field, and joined Lansbury Worthington in 2002 as the firm's chief in-house criminal advocate. He has been awarded Higher Rights (Higher Courts Criminal Proceedings) and as such has the right to represent clients in the Crown Court and the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division).

    Martin continues to represent members of the armed forces with notable success in Court Martial proceedings.
